Dame Judi Dench and Jim Broadbent, stars of the film Iris , launched the Iris Murdoch appeal on Wednesday.
The joint venture by Oxford University and St Anne's College aims to raise £1 million to fund bursaries for poorer students and a professorship in old-age psychiatry directly focusing on Alzheimer's disease and other dementias.
