Dearing appointed chair of think-tank

Higher education guru Lord Dearing has been appointed chair of the trustees of a think-tank being set up by the English funding council.

The Higher Education Policy Institute will be headed by Bahram Bekhradnia, head of policy at the Higher Education Funding Council for England. It will be a charity, established and initially funded by Hefce. Over time, it is hoped that other funders will become involved. The unit will be based in Oxford and will begin work in autumn.
