Sharp diary eyes were alerted by a press release from "Liberal Democrat shadow department for education and employment secretary Phil Willis". Surely the term "shadow" can only apply to Conservative spokespersons? Confusion in the Commons information service until the mystery is solved. Charles Kennedy's decision to set up a Liberal Democrat shadow cabinet means the term is now technically correct. Mr Willis has just been especially quick in adopting it.
