Council vacancies

Fancy a taste of power and influence in the world of British research funding? The Office of Science and Technology is seeking applications for a number of vacancies for part-time members of the research councils.

The closing date for applications for the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council, the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council and the Particle Physics and Astronomy Research Council is November 6.

For the Economic and Social Research Council, the Medical Research Council and the Natural Environment Research Council the deadline is February 1, 1999. An honorarium, up to Pounds 5,390 a year, is payable to council members.
