Leicester University's department of child health has formally opened its children's asthma centre, which is to conduct research into the causes of asthma in children. The centre has a research laboratory, a clinical trials unit, a laboratory for developing new methods of measuring the efficiency of childrens' lungs and an aerosol research laboratory.
