Review inertia

Notable for its absence is the government's response to the House of Commons' Science and Technology Committee's report on the implications of the Dearing inquiry for university research. Due by June 2, two months after the Commons' report, it has yet to appear although the Office of Science and Technology promised it for later in June. Since the committee has asked the government to spend an extra Pounds 400 million on research infrastructure, this could be another document doomed to wait on the comprehensive spending review in July.
