About the area The School of Human Sciences is a large multi-disciplinary entity with research and teaching focused on better understanding of what it is to be human, our structure, function, development, genetics, adaptation, performance, and evolution. About the opportunity Deliver high-quality teaching and clinical training in Audiology, contributing to the design, coordination and assessment of postgraduate units within the Master of Clinical Audiology, and supervising student research projects. Build an active research profile in Audiology, undertaking independent and collaborative research, publishing in high-impact journals, supervising HDR students, and enhancing the School’s national and international reputation. Engage with the profession and broader community, contributing to program development, governance and service activities, partnering with external clinical and industry stakeholders, and advocating for hearing health practice and policy. About you Master of Clinical Audiology degree (or equivalent). PhD in an academic field relevant to discipline. Be eligible for full membership with Audiology Australia and its Certificate of Clinical Practice. Capacity to teach clinical audiology, and demonstrate the ability to deliver high quality teaching, as well as knowledge of a variety of teaching and assessment methods. Evidence of research in Audiology such as grant, awards and/or publications in peer reviewed scientific journals. Demonstrate evidence of successful supervision or co-supervision or mentoring of HDR, Honours and research students. Demonstrated ability to relate well to staff and students at all levels, and evidence of a commitment to equity and diversity principles. Skills and experience required You will have a track record of successfully leading all aspects of a large finance function and experience of managing a team, including recruiting, developing, training, appraising and motivating staff. A thorough understanding and appreciation of relevant national and international developments, policies and benchmarks and a broad knowledge of current approaches to service-related work and of current debates, issues and challenges within the HE sector are essential. You will also have experience of dealing with highly confidential, sensitive information and an awareness of Data Protection legislation. You will have financial management skills, with experience of the preparation of reports (including statistical) for use in policy development and to inform senior decision making. The ability to understand and interpret complex regulations and the ability to meet agreed deadlines in a busy and complex environment are essential.
