The University of Vic - Central University of Catalonia (UVic-UCC) is a regional public service organisation, offering teaching, research and knowledge transfer activities. In the 2020-2021 academic year there was a total of 17,130 students, of whom 9,280 were enrolled in recognised undergraduate, postgraduate, master's degree or doctoral studies. Since conferral of university status in 1997, it has established itself as a strategic tool for the local social, economic and political fabric of society and at the same time has consolidated an international outlook. One of its key characteristics is its distinctive legal framework and governance model, as a regional public service initiative, subject to public sector university regulations, and basing its growth on a federated structure. UVic-UCC currently has three campuses in Vic, Manresa and Barcelona, and a branch campus in Granollers. There are eight faculties, offering almost 40 degree courses in fields such as biosciences, health sciences, social sciences, education, business, communication studies, design and engineering. There are also nine doctoral programmes, 31 research groups, 14 chairs and six research and knowledge transfer centres. The University also has three affiliate centres offering further courses. In terms of competitive research and knowledge transfer, the last decade has been a period of substantial growth, with synergies and agreements with enterprises and institutions, and a growing national and international profile.

Working closely with the Program Director of Indigenous Public Health and other members of the academic team, the position will have a role in teaching and academic administration of Indigenous public health units of study within the Sydney School of Public Health and Faculty of Medicine and health covering a variety of health and wellbeing topics covered by the curriculum. King’s Comprehensive Cancer Centre (CCC) headed by Professor Sheila Singh is the academic arm of one of the leading cancer centres in Europe. Research at the CCC is supported by strategic investments such as the King’s partnership in the Cancer Research UK City of London Centre (CRUK CoL), CRUK RadNet, the KHP Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre (ECMC) and Breast Cancer Now Research Unit. The Department of Haematology of the CCC is based in the Denmark Hill campus and comprises 10 research groups led by King’s academics, including several clinicians. We have active clinical and research programmes in understanding the immunobiology of haematological disease. The postholder will help develop their independent programme of research in molecular immunology to make a substantive contribution to KCL's portfolio of research in cell and gene therapeutics, focusing on haemato-oncology, and novel diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for haematology. This post will complement strengths at King’s Haematology including bone marrow failure, haematopoiesis, myeloid malignancies, lymphoma, hemoglobinopathies and gene therapy. The postholder will also develop collaborative research across the School of Cancer & Pharmaceutical Sciences (SCPS) and the Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine (FoLSM). The postholder will also contribute to research training and the development and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate education programmes within the SCPS and FoLSM.
