Vladimir Zaitzev, director of the National Library in St Petersburg, is among a group of Russian artists and intellectuals awarded a new Alexander Pushkin medal for achievements in culture and science. A special ceremony at the Kremlin coincided with the 200th anniversary of Pushkin's birth.
