World Conference on Biomass to take place in Rome

Brussels, 11 Feb 2004

The second 'World conference and technology exhibition on biomass for energy, industry and climate protection' will take place in Rome, Italy, from 10 to 14 May 2004.

Participants will be encouraged to exchange experience and know-how in the field of biomass, and discuss issues such as energy sustainability, biomass evaluation technologies, commercial projects, the possibilities for technological development, and the reduction of climate change.

Several prizes and awards will also be presented for achievements in the fields of bioenergy and biomass.

Coorganised by ETA Florence and WIP-Munich, this event has the support of the European Commission, the US Department of Energy, UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme), the Italian Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources Canada, IEA Bioenergy, the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organisation) and EUBIA (European Biomass Industry Association). Representatives from CORDIS will also attend.
