A workshop organised by the EU funded project CRAHVI, 'crashworthiness of aircraft for high velocity impact', will take place in Filton, the UK, on 17 March.
The workshop will present crash and impact design methods and simulation tools developed and validated for the CRAHVI project. A range of tests and numerical studies will be presented, which have increased understanding of the characteristic behaviour of metallic and composite structures when they are subjected to crash and high velocity impacts.
The three main sessions at the event will cover an overview of the project, foreign object impact, and aircraft impact simulation.
Although the project focuses primarily on the aerospace industry, the workshop is aimed at designers from all industries working on crashworthiness and impacts.
