A former police officer who enrolled at Canterbury Christ Church University in 1993 with one A level has left the university with a PhD and a prestigious international award for his theological research.
Timothy Ling, 36, who recently completed a PhD in theology after achieving a first-class honours BA and a masters with distinction in the same subject, has received the John Templeton Award for Theological Promise.
