STIRLING

Gerard Hastings, a leading researcher on tobacco industry controls, has joined the university under a joint initiative with the Open University to form the Institute of Social Marketing. Professor Hastings was previously at Strathclyde. He founded and directed two research centres and is an adviser to the World Health Organisation and the American Medical Association. He gives guidance to the Scottish, UK and European parliaments.
