An academic conference is to analyse the concept of luxury. In Pursuit of Luxury: Commercial and Academic Perspectives on Luxury will cover issues ranging from the understanding of the term to whether it can or should be applied to branded goods today. Delegates at the conference, to be held at the University of Hertfordshire in June, will consider whether contemporary branding allows mass-produced goods to remain "luxurious".
