Virus research award

Glasgow University scientists have won £800,000 from the Wellcome Trust for their research into fighting the viruses that cause diseases such as Aids and leukaemia. The research team of molecular cancer specialists and virologists is led by Massimo Palmarini of the university's veterinary medicine faculty - a world expert on viral pathogenesis and lung cancer.
