Queen's Belfast hosts future of Europe conference
Some 200 academics, senior civil servants and government officials are gathering this week at Queen's University Belfast to discuss the future of Europe. The annual conference of the University Association for Contemporary European Studies follows foreign secretary Jack Straw's visit to Belfast last week to promote the benefits of European Union membership.

First public-private teacher supply agency starts
A teacher supply agency set up as a public-private partnership was launched today by teacher training institution Edge Hill College with Lancashire County Council and Reed Education Professionals. The Lancashire Teaching Agency already has 2,500 teachers on its books. Edge Hill chief executive John Cater said: "We are delighted to work in partnership to offer high-quality professional development to supply teachers and highly qualified recruits to Lancashire's schools."

Leicester hosts Boileau exhibition
Photographer Lou Boileau's red images of famous actors are going on show at the University of Leicester. His portfolio compiled over 15 years includes pictures of John Thaw, Rik Mayall, Norman Wisdom and Leslie Phillips.
