We regret to announce the demise of the international edition of Iota, the newsletter of the Dutch Foundation for Public Information on Science, Technology and the Humanities. The parting message on the last issue explains that Iota was an "off-spin" from a Dutch monthly which has now turned into a broader bimonthly. But it adds that its decision was also influenced by lack of response: "With a very few exceptions, we never heard from our readers." The final edition includes an article headed "Science journalism lacks punch", and another illustrated by five identical photographs of a plug.
