Dog's dinner research by two product design lecturers has scooped a top award at New York's Pet Fashion Week. Justin Magee and Stephen McGilloway of the University of Ulster created an innovative non-slip pet food bowl after teaming up with Londonderry pet firm Hugx. The Hugx bowl, hailed as a "total rethink in dog dining", is angled to ensure that it cannot fall over and that food always falls into its centre. The bowl won the Lifestyle Innovation Award in the event's pet dinnerware category. The project was supported by the university's Innovation Promoters Programme, sponsored by the urban regeneration firm ILEX.
