Journalism students at the University of Salford are helping prisoners write and produce their own in-house magazine. Small teams of students have been travelling to HMP Styal, a women's prison near Wilmslow, to mentor offenders on the production of Innit magazine. The students discuss story ideas, offer tips on journalistic writing and provide coaching in interview techniques. They also help with Innit's content and page design.
