The 2010 British Animation Awards are to be held at the University of Portsmouth. It is due to screen about 60 films this month, with each showing containing a mix of short films, animated commercials and music videos. Audience members will be asked to vote for their favourites. Entries include several international film festival award-winners and feature familiar characters such as the YouTube phenomenon Simon's Cat, which was created by London illustrator Simon Tofield and is based on the antics of his own moggy, Hugh.
