The University of Manchester has announced a £32 million fund to invest in spin-off opportunities. The fund, which was launched on 17 April, will give researchers access to finances to turn their ideas into businesses. Alan Gilbert, the university's president and vice-chancellor, said: "This is a ground-breaking initiative establishing a hugely creative vehicle for providing academics with access to the capital to develop world-leading research into world-beating companies."
