The foreign policy of US Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama will be almost identical to that of George W. Bush, according to a leading American foreign policy analyst based at the University of Manchester. Inderjeet Parmar, head of politics in Manchester's School of Social Sciences, examined every foreign policy speech made by Mr Obama since 2000 to conclude that the Bush policy of intervention will be, if anything, strengthened if Mr Obama wins in November. "In effect his policies on Iran, Iraq and Israel are almost entirely the same," Professor Parmar said.
