Researchers are attending funerals in an effort to build a picture of spirituality in modern Britain. The University of Hull project, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, will examine the spirituality of funerals - a topic rarely subjected to academic study. A team led by Margaret Holloway, of the department of social sciences, will investigate the content of funerals today and how this reflects changing attitudes to religion and spirituality.
