A centre for Latin American art has been boosted by the acquisition of eight artworks. The University of Essex Collection of Latin American Art gained the pieces through its partnership with the first Pinta Modern and Contemporary Latin American Art Show in London. Essex used a legacy of £7,000 to purchase three historical and two contemporary works, with a further three works by Puerto Rican artist Michael Linares donated to the collection by the directors of Pinta.
