Delegates will have to use their senses when comparing foods at a conference on taste at the University of Essex. Held at the Southend campus and hosted by the university's management centre, the two-day event forms part of a series of conferences on the senses; events on hearing and sight have taken place in Utrecht and Copenhagen. "The word 'taste' has many connotations," said Heather Hopfl, from Essex Business School. "Whether of the mouth or the eye, taste almost always calls to mind a question of judgment."
