University of Essex - Built for prizes

The award-winning architecture surrounding students at the University of Essex has been recognised in the Colchester 2020 and 2008 Riba Architectural Awards. The Ivor Crewe Lecture Hall was named joint winner in the new contemporary buildings category. The award for sustainable development went to the new Centre for Brain Sciences, which has solar panels, a rainwater recovery system and a ground-source heat pump.
