University of Cumbria - New institution's North West first

A university founded just 18 months ago has received two marks of recognition for the way it is run. The University of Cumbria was granted the Investors in People award as well as accreditation for its leadership and management model. It said it was the first university in the North West of England to achieve the latter award. Neil Harris, the university's secretary, said: "We've all gone through a considerable amount of change over the past 18 months, so to achieve this during this time is a reflection of everyone's hard work."
