The University of Central Lancashire has launched a "virtual open day" that can be downloaded from iTunes. The iPhone application is fully interactive and will afford the opportunity to take a self-guided tour of the campus. Prospective students can then post comments on their visit to social-media websites such as Facebook, Flickr and Twitter. Joel Arber, Uclan's director of marketing and communications, said: "Social media is second nature in today's society."
