Cambridge University Press (CUP) is planning to cut more than 150 jobs. The union Unite is protesting the move, describing CUP's decision to cut the jobs in its printing division and publishing education group as "an irredeemable stain on Cambridge's ... reputation as it celebrates its 800th anniversary". Ann Field, Unite national officer, said: "CUP is still a profitable organisation ... jobs should not be axed unnecessarily during a recession."
