The University of Bedfordshire is setting up a centre for social work research. A grant from the Social Care Trust has bankrolled the £1.1 million centre, which will carry out research across all social care disciplines. The initial focus will be on identifying what interventions work when people misuse drugs and alcohol. The centre will also develop an evidence base on what works in social care.
