A team of engineers from the University of Bath has received the BP Helios Progressive Award for a collaborative project to improve the efficiency of diesel cars. The team, which also included engineers from BP and Ford, fought off 1,300 competitors to win the award. The Bath team was led by Gary Hawley, dean of engineering, and Chris Brace, senior lecturer in automotive engineering in the department of mechanical engineering.
