Universities transfer courses to improve

* Dundee's two universities have signed a "strategic realignment" agreement to transfer courses between them, backed by the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council.

Five management and consumer studies staff will transfer from Dundee University to the University of Abertay Dundee, but will be "leased back" to Dundee for the following three years to allow current students to complete their courses.

SHEFC has awarded Abertay more than Pounds 2 million to fund new developments in business and management and Dundee will withdraw from teaching an MBA.
