Union backs pay strike

More than 600 staff at the Scottish Agricultural College were expected to strike yesterday in a dispute over pay. The college management said it was "disappointed" that Prospect had advised its members to strike but the union said that while management had offered "some form of rise" during negotiations, this would have left most staff with no increase.
