UK workshops on managing and negotiating FP6 projects

October 21, 2003

Brussels, 20 Oct 2003

Two workshops, on running and negotiating Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) projects, will take place in Cambridge, UK in October and November.

'Managing EC research projects in FP6' will take place on 29 October. The workshop will explain how EU funded projects work. Addressing project management, the sessions will touch upon multiculturalism, mixing organisations - large and small, public and private, commercial and not for profit. The workshop will explain the potential problems and how they can be tackled through a combination of planning, monitoring, discussion and diplomacy. It will include an overview of the elements in consortium agreements necessary for managing projects.

'Negotiating FP6 research contracts' will take place on 7 November, and will outline the contract negotiation process. It is aimed at helping administrators and managers to progress swiftly from the Commission's evaluation summary report and framework for negotiation, to a signed contract.
