UK workshop on FP6 consortium agreements

November 10, 2003

Brussels, 07 Nov 2003

A workshop on consortium agreements for the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) will take place in Cambridge, UK, on 9 December.

FP6 significantly increases the powers of the research consortium. Transfers of budget between partners, changes to the work plan, adding new partners during the project, and even issuing calls for proposals can now all be done by the consortium itself.

New rules concerning intellectual property and financial liability are additional challenges and should be addressed with a consortium agreement, which is now compulsory for almost every EU funded project.

The workshop will provide a detailed analysis of the Commission's new model contract and its implications for consortium agreements. It will include an introduction to decision making within the consortium, as well as the options for dealing with intellectual property and financial matters.
