Turkish Cypriot universities are pushing to be allowed to join the Bologna Process, which standardises degrees across the European Union.
Turkish Cyprus, which is not formally recognised by several states, is excluded from the process because it is not party to the European cultural convention, Lord Adonis, the Schools Minister, told a House of Lords debate on the issue.
