TUC general secretary John Monks has high hopes for the movement's own television show, TUTV. "The TUC has bought space at 5.45am to show programmes designed to appeal to trade union activists," he told the Association of University Teachers' conference. "With the eccentric lifestyle of some university lecturers, it would not surprise me if some of you were watching it on BBC1 before you went to bed," he said. Mr Monks, however, is clearly no eccentric. TUTV is on BBC2.
