Title up for grabs

A new generation of universities was given the green light this week as the Government published revised criteria for those wishing to gain degree-awarding powers and use the university title. Under revised regulations, published on Friday, institutions will not be required to carry out research but will need at least 4,000 full-time equivalent higher education students.
