Tiny image wins a big prize

* Small is beautiful, according to the international Nikon microscopy competition. It has awarded a prize to Dundee University researcher Paul Andrews for his image of a tiny cancer cell dividing, in shades of purple, and the jellyfish-green fluorescent protein, GFP.

Dr Andrews is based in Dundee's division of gene regulation and expression. His studies involve using a state-of-the-art digital deconvolution microscope for high-resolution imaging.
