It has certainly been a busy few days for Ed Davey, the Liberal Democrats' Education Spokesman. Having been one of those Shadow Cabinet members who declared they could no longer serve under Charles Kennedy, Mr Davey is now being given odds of 8-1 by the bookies to become the next party leader. But what are the odds of the new Lib-Dem leader, whoever he or she turns out to be, appointing a higher education spokesman - something that the party failed to do after the last election?
