Terry Marsh, who stepped down as Liberal Democrat candidate for Basildon this week after being charged with deception in connection with a student grant, has a degree in politics and government from London Guildhall University and is alleged to have committed the offence while studying for an MA in contemporary history there. LGU's flag will still be carried by part-time student Syed Nurul Islam, fighting Bethnal Green and Bow, also for the Liberal Democrats.
