Aspiring butlers will now be able to train for a fully accredited qualification with the launch of the international professional butlers' diploma at Thames Valley University. The diploma was developed in collaboration with the Royal Household, and covers topics including wines, spirits and cigar knowledge, food-service operations and customer care, plus housekeeping procedures. Upon completion of the one-year course, students will be qualified to start a career in butler and household-manager positions, or go on to undergraduate-level study.
