A new centre aims to help teenage mothers overcome barriers to education. Thames Valley University's Centre at Reading Girls' School boasts a library, hair salon and beauty therapy training room, computer rooms and an on-site 20-place nursery, where young mothers in the Reading area will be able to drop off their children before lessons. It will offer a range of qualifications, including NVQs, GCSEs and A levels, in subjects including beauty therapy, childcare, English and maths.
