The board of Channel Four directors that approved the Brass Eye "mocumentary" on paedophilia includes the master of Balliol College, Oxford, Andrew Graham, who was recently tipped as a possible candidate for the BBC chairmanship.
One wonders whether he is still in with a chance, given the number of cabinet ministers who condemned the programme. But then, the row could be helpful. One of the main arguments cited against appointing him to the BBC post was Labour cronyism.
