The COMDEX Scandinavia 2003 Expo on 14 January 2003 in Gothenburg will host a special seminar on technological collaboration, particularly in the areas of wireless applications, telematics and information technology (IT) security between companies from Sweden and Israel.
The event is expected to help form partnerships between Israel and Sweden for research and development project proposals as well as to encourage technology transfer between the two countries and the European Union.
The event will run throughout the day, with the morning session including the following:
- Speakers from key Swedish companies highlighting their companies' progress in IT applications during the morning session.
- Representatives from VINNOVA, the Swedish agency for innovation systems and MATIMOP, the Israeli industry center for research and development will also present their support plan, which is to finance the following initiatives: SIBED, a new joint programme between Sweden and Israel supporting development of primarily wireless applications utilising test bed facilities; EUREKA, A pan-European network for market-oriented, industrial research and development; and the Sixth Framework Program (FP6).
Members of two Innovation Relay Centres, IRC Western and Southern Sweden and IRC Israel will discuss the support methods used to facilitate technology transfer and partner search.
The afternoon session will focus on one-to-one meetings between interested companies, research and development actors and other representatives from Israel and Sweden.
