'Sustainable land management and vulnerable ecosystems' conference

The Slovenian Ministry of Education, Science and Sport is organising a conference on the topic of sustainable land management and vulnerable ecosystems in Ljubljana from 15 to 17 January 2003.

The event will focus on research in the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) on the following topics:
- sustainable agriculture and forestry - new concepts, strategies and tools for sustainable land management;
- integrated management of natural resources for sustainable development and tourism;
- fragmentation of ecosystems in sensitive areas - for example, wetlands.

The event will include plenary sessions, presentations and panel discussions. Among the guest speakers will be the Slovenian Minister for Education, Science and Sport, and representatives from the Commission's DG Research.
