Support scheme for heritage volunteers

The Association of Art Historians is to launch a scheme intended to support voluntary student work placements in museums, galleries and other UK heritage institutions.

The scheme will contribute up to £20 a day towards basic expenses such as travel, meals, accommodation, special materials and childcare.

It is intended to encourage students who want to gain professional skills and forge closer contacts with institutions as part of arts historical studies or as a prerequisite for postgraduate museums and heritage courses.
