The deans of Scotland's medical schools and the Scottish Executive this week told the Scottish Parliament's enterprise and lifelong learning committee that they back draft legislation restoring St Andrews University's right to award MD degrees.
This paves the way for a stage-one debate in the Scottish Parliament, with MSPs expected to rectify a Westminster drafting error made almost 40 years ago.
