Students need a roof

Bursaries for students threatened with homelessness are crucial to their success in higher education, according to a study published this week.

The study followed the fortunes of 75 people based in Foyers, which provide housing for young people who are unable to live at home, in the first year of the university bursaries project. It found that financial and pastoral support were vital to keeping students in higher education.
