Students unions must forge better links with the wider community amid concerns about anti-social behaviour, the National Union of Students said this week.
In its report Students in the Community: Working Together to achieve Harmony , the NUS says that unions should forge partnerships with local community groups and the police, and that students should stand in local council elections, as part of a number of measures to improve town-gown relations.
